Many folks still cling to the idea, as I once did long ago, that effective marketing demands one be loud, permanently visible, and generally constructed along extrovert lines. This, we can say with confidence, is simply untrue.
Successful marketing in the modern marketplace is, if anything, rather quiet. People don’t want to be marketed at. They don’t want to be sold to or convinced either.
People want to resonate with a message or an idea, and recognize themselves in a story. Marketing is no longer a megaphone. It is a lighthouse.
A lighthouse does not pursue ships around the harbor shouting slogans or trying to be louder than the last guy. Rather, it stands there, shines steadily, and lets the right vessels find their own way. That is the whole secret to it.
This short and cheerful guide to marketing mindset for introverts is not a marketing strategy or a collection of super smart and battle-tested tactics, although I have plenty of those if you want them.
It is instead a short exploration of the mindset that lets you create genuine connection and grow your impact without abandoning your own energy.
